Facebook is a social networking website that connects people with friends, colleagues and strangers with like passions and interests. Since its limited launch in 2004 -- restricted to colleges and universities -- the service opened its doors to the world, resulting in an unprecedented flood of members. Facebook's friendly interface and innovative features garnered the attention of many netizens world-wide, attracting a group 34 million strong by July 2007.

In early months of 2007 Facebook launched a public application programming interface, the Facebook Platform, allowing development of 3rd party applications. This strategy proved to be an enormous success, and hundreds of applications extending the basic functionality of Facebook appeared shortly after the release of the platform. Organizations and individual developers alike seized the opportunity to expand their ideas and services into the Facebook universe. The list of available applications grows daily.

Facebook has found its way into the hearts and minds of Canflix staff also. It was only a matter of time before a Canflix Facebook application came to be.
