Action cinema has taken a new direction with the thrilling exploits of Tony Jaa in films like Ong Bak and The Protector. Back in 1986, a young boy in Surin, Thailand walked over ten miles to watch a locally made action film that would change the course of his life. That boy was Tony Jaa, and the film was Born To Fight. The star of Born To Fight, Panna Rittikrai, would go on to be Tony's trainer, choreographer and mentor.Sianfong, lawyer to the powerful Yang family, finds that Tungseung, the son-in law of the family has been embezzling large sums of money from the family. When Tungsueng finds out that Sianfong has proof of his theft, he sends the Green Dragon gang after him, but Sianfong flees Hong Kong for Thailand.With the Green Dragons on his trail, Sianfong flees to the countryside to hide with Uncle Jam. Tong, a Thai cop (played by Panna, who also directs the film and did the fight choreography) is hired to find Sianfong and return him to Hong Kong, but double crosses and mistaken identities come to play in this action-packed film that spawned a remake in 2004 also directed by Panna.
